gives sneak-peak of its comprehensive secure software distribution technologies
at the Spring Symposium of the Software Publisher's Association.
SAN JOSE, CA--March 22, 1998--PACE Anti-Piracy today demonstrated its soon-to-be-released InterLok suite of secure software distribution technologies at the Spring Symposium of the Software Publisher's Association. In development for over 3 years, the InterLok system is a complete set of tools and services that encompasses the entire range of secure software distribution systems; from modern, Internet-driven "try before you buy" models to those involving classic copy protection techniques, such as authorization via key diskettes. The centerpiece of the suite, InterLok, is a highly secure wrapper mechanism for electronic software distribution, that draws upon PACE Anti-Piracy's 13 years of field-proven experience in delivering anti-piracy solutions. InterLok defines a new standard for the security and flexibility that can provided by a distribution wrapper. "InterLok is a complete authorization and distribution umbrella that provides software developers an unprecedented range of demonstration, distribution and unlocking options," said Ward Willats, Chief Technology Officer of the company. "What's more, we feel our years of experience with copy protection systems makes InterLok far more secure than competing products." While many young and inexperienced companies are pursuing business in the emerging ESD marketplace, PACE Anti-Piracy's position as a senior vendor of copy protection technology gives it a deep technological grounding and the solid customer base needed to gradually refine and expand its ESD offerings. "Our profitable position means we have the luxury of growing along with this market, no matter how long that may take," said Allen Cronce, President of the company. "Many of these venture-funded ESD organizations require more growth than the market can currently deliver. We're fortunate that we have the means and ability to deliver outstanding products in this area at whatever rate of growth the ESD market provides." The InterLok suite offers many attractive features. Besides turn-key wrapping of a publisher's executables, the product supports try-before-you-buy, pay-per-use and immediate purchase distribution models. Product unlocking can be accomplished via phone, fax, web site or licensed clearing house. The product offers extensive customization of the end user experience and complete foreign language support. The optional use of the InterLok API allows distribution of one set of code that can be remotely unlocked to deliver different levels of functionality. Product Pricing and Availability InterLok
